Overview

The Guangrun Hydropower Development Project offset power and GHG emissions generated by regional coal power plants through water resources for electricity generation by installing and operating hydro power stations using water from the Majia River. The IBRD’s project comprised four hydropower stations: the Hongwawu I station with a capacity of 8MW which was put into operation in November 2011; the Hongwawu II station with a capacity of 10MW which was put into operation in September 2009; the Zhamushui station with a capacity of 10MW which went into operation in August 2012; and the Kongzishan station with a capacity of 400kW which was put into operation in September 2012.
