Overview

The Jiangxi Shihutang Hydro Project involved the construction of a hydropower station in Jiangxi Province with an installed capacity of 120 MW and an average annual power generation of 525 GWh at Shihutang Junction on Gan River. The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project used methodology ACM0002 – version 12 - Consolidated baseline methodology for grid-connected electricity generation from renewable sources. It was a grid-connected hydropower project that was invested, constructed and operated by Jiangxi Gan River Shihutang Water Resource Multipurpose Development Co., Ltd. The estimated electricity delivered to Central China Grid by the Project was 489,220 MWh per year with the average annual operating hours of 4,160 h. The project not only supplied renewable electricity to the grid, but also contributed to sustainable development by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, diversifying power sources and mitigating the demand and supply contradiction.
