Overview

The Rosneft Associated Gas Recovery Project for the Komsomolskoye Oil Field Project recovered, treated and marketed low-pressure associated petroleum gases (APG) produced at the Komsomolskoye oil field, thereby reducing flaring of APG at the oil field and the resulting GHG emissions to the atmosphere. The project utilized Sectoral Scope 10: Fugitive emissions from fuels (solid, oil and gas), and – although not required – also used elements of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) baseline and monitoring methodology AM0009 – version 2.1 – Recovery and utilization of gas from oil wells that would otherwise be flared to prepare the baseline.
