Overview

The Thailand: AEP Livestock Waste Management Project aimed to upgrade livestock waste management and treatment practices in 10 swine farms, all commissioned since November 2009. The program activity converted open anaerobic lagoons to continuous flow closed anaerobic treatment digesters (Channel Digester Plus) with biogas capture and power generation at ten farms in the Ratchaburi and Chonburi provinces of Thailand. Flaring systems were installed in each farm to ensure that there is no methane directly released into the atmosphere. The project was expected to reduce 53,526 tCO2e of greenhouse gas annually.
